Budget 2011 Date announced

Surprising a few, Brian Lenihan has revealed the date of Budget 2011 quite early this year.   The Budget has been set for Tuesday 7th December.

It is thought that some of the Budget deficit will have to be made up through taxation increases – up to this point, the emphasis has been on spending cuts to make up the difference.

While spending cuts have been decided in a number of areas, Minister of Health Mary Harney has revealed that they are still reviewing where cuts can be made in health.

    Hi, excellent website.
Do you know of any impending changes to the Back to work enterprise scheme coming up in the forthcoming budget.
    many thanks

  2. Hi Joe,
    Thanks for the feedback.

The Back to Work Enterprise Allowance is something that the government get good feedback on and regularly quote as a successful initiative. So I’d be immensely surprised if they pulled it.

They have of late made more money available for new business initiatives through the Enterprise Boards and other local bodies. If you haven’t spoken to your local board, they are well worth getting in touch with.

best of luck with the new venture
    John
